Very friendly and Pupusas were delicious!
The food here is amazing and the service is also great. I will definitely be back here again. The papusasas are a must try!!
Authentic El Salvadoran food. Very good. Very popular place.
Good food, great taste you only find in El Salvador.
Friendly staff, good menu, good location. Pork papusas are my favorite.
The food is constantly well prepared and yummy, cashiers hands out great service. I really like how neat it is and mood. I highly recommend this place.
Fantastic pupusas served fresh at an affordable price. Would also recommend the fried plantains or barbacoa tacos. This is a must visit for any fan of authentic South American cuisine.
Love love love this place. Papusas!
There are so many varieties of "Latin" food. This is one of my favorites.I would eat here every week if I lived closer.Friendly serviceGood pricesDelicious food. The Salvadoran tamales and Pollo En Crema are very unique and so good.Everyone I take here loves it.
I love this place because the pupusas are bomb. But today I order a pan con pollo and man the bread was old like really old. Maybe it will be better next time.
Best pupusas in the city!
Such a delicious dinner. The sauces were flavor filled and the meat juicy. We can't wait to go back. The fried plantains we had were tasty - the dipping sauce flavorful and not at all spicy. Please ditch the straws.
Great food, great people, great price. My favorites are the bean and cheese papusa, breakfast meals, and carne asada tacos but you really cannot go wrong here.
This mom & pop shop is not fancy, but the food is delicious. The pupusas, curtido, and salsa are bomb! I highly recommend it.
Normally a really good experience. More recently, server forgot our papusa order, then forgot again when we reminded him. Ended up having to leave with no papusas.
The Salvadoran breakfast is highly recommended and I can see why. The steak was juicy and could be cut like butter. The plantains were ever so soft and matched beautiful with the native cream. Beans were delicious but brought more life and flavor when eaten in one bite accompanied in the same bite a bit of the egg which was flavored by bits of chopped onion bell pepper and tomato. Needless to say, this is an ideal way to start the day.
They are currently taking online orders for carry-out. We love this place. Great food.
I get so tired of "authentic Mexican" restaurants, and when I found this hole-in-the-wall on Urbanspoon, I was excited to try it. It is not a "Mexican" restaurant, although the menu does have a section dedicated to more traditional plates in Mexican restaurants. It's a Latin American dining experience, and it's one I won't forget! I took the advice of the reviews and ordered a pupusa (along with a tamale). I got the mixed pupusa, which had beans, pork, and cheese in it. It was served with a cabbage mixture dressed with salt, vinegar, and oregano. The pupusa by itself was delicious, but when I topped it with the cabbage and a little salsa, it was divine. The tamale was excellent as well, but I cannot stop my cravings for another pupusa. I am definitely returning here! Please don't pass El Pulgarcito by!
First time trying Salvadoran food. Food is fresh and delicious. Service is great.
This place is amazing. I could have sat and ate all day.
So good. Tacos melted in your mouth and shrimp was fresh made.
Great little restaurant that we enjoyed very much. The waitress was extremely helpful in helping us choose what to order with her recommendations. We will return the next time we are in the neighborhood.
Fantastic! Seriously you have to come here. You know it's good when most of the people eating inside are speaking Spanish. Pupusas are amazing, coleslaw salad on top even better. Green "salsa" is hot and delish. This is a very casual place, seat yourself, pay at the cash register when done type of place. We came at night and the area doesn't seem super great but it was busy and didn't feel sketchy.
THIS PLACE IS AMAZING. Like everyone else is saying I love the papusas especially with extra cheese because no one loves cheese more then me. Around every two week me my and me travel from lawrence to here for the AMAZING food and for the great service.
Yummy pupusas!
Very good! Papusas were fresh along with the tamales ordered. You cannot duplicate this taste at a typical Tex-Mex restaurant. I'll be back many times
Amazing food. If you haven't eaten here yet, you absolutely need to!
The spicy cabbage is so good. A lot of places charge an arm and a leg for a tiny portion of plantains, not here; you get a heaping helping of yummy crispy golden plantains. Everything is worth trying. So keep going back until you’ve tried it all. The pupusas are what keeps me coming back again and again. Great homemade salsas! It’s a modest restaurant that reminds me of something you’d see in downtown Miami. Don’t be fooled by the old diner vibe the food is nothing short of amazing. So too is the staff, super friendly. Convenient locations in Old Shawnee just off 1-35. If you’ve been wanting to try El Salvadoran food but didn’t know where to go, problem solved. Enjoy!
